Every Story Matters
The true stories we tell about others can shape our views, our actions and even our future. Journalism is a powerful tool that can inform, educate, and inspire. It can also cause conflict, be controversial and provocative. It gives people a voice, expands our view of the world and lets us talk about what really matters to us and to our communities.
In this project, we explore the world of community journalism and hyper-localism and how we can make every story matter. We look at ways of working and studying journalism and explore the skills journalists need. The students have learnt how to turn everyday stories into informative, engaging articles and look at how journalism and storytelling fit in our digital world.
Project Outcome
For the students, their final outcome showcases the research undertaken to complete and write an article on their local community and the photographs taken to illustrate their work.
A huge congratulations goes out to Bardya Partoviadel and Thomas McCue from Burnside College for sharing their stories.
